In this 2nd Venice Course Edition, Lanfroi Graziani (interventional cardiologist of ICCB in Brescia), Erich Minar, Martin Schillinger and Johannes Lammer (Division of Angiology & Radiology, Wien University Hospital) and Gary Ansel (cardiologist from Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus – Ohio) will be performing live cases.
During the 3 days’ Course about 25 cases in live sessions will be scheduled.
The spirit of the Course is, once again, to present interventions considered at elevated or extremely difficult levels both in the femoral-popliteal arteries and/or in BKT-foot arterial segments in subjects with Critical Limb Ischemia and risk of limb loss. Particular emphasis will be placed, for example, on the endovascular treatment of calcified lesions, long occlusions, complex-long calcified stenoses and difficult re-entry procedure after sub-intimal fem-pop recanalization.
Recanalization of long-calcified tibial & foot arteries represent a relevant part of the procedures that will be performed.
Two Symposiums on “Endovascular-suite organization and setting for extreme interventions” and “Complications prevention” will take place during the short morning sessions whereas
the two Luncheon Symposiums will focus on “Screening of CVD in patients with CLI” and “Intervention strategy in diabetics with coronary, carotid and PVD”, respectively.
Furthermore, the frequent coexistence of coronary artery disease in patients with CLI is a complex emerging problem that will be discussed in details.
Francesco Liistro, interventional cardiologist, is the coordinator of the two cardiovascular Luncheon Symposiums.
During the four main sessions in Room A, live cases and lectures focussed on the topics of the 2008 Course will be presented.
Saturday morning will be reserved to an Advanced Course on antegrade femoral approach and tibial arteries recanalization techniques.
Amir Motarjeme, interventional radiologist from Midwest Vascular Institute in Hopedale, Chicago, will give his precious contribution as Associate Course Director .
